Here are
answers to some questions people frequently ask about CYJ.
1. Is CYJ a church?
CYJ is not a Church. It is an interdenominational Christian
youth Ministry that acts as an arm of the Church. CYJ
Members, Leaders, Patrons and sponsors are members of
various local churches. In fact belonging to a local church
is one of the conditions of membership into the Ministry.
2. As a youth, why should I be involved in CYJ?
The greatest and most fulfilling duty in life is to find out
the purpose of the Creator in one's life and to fulfill it.
As young people we have a divine obligation to serve our
creator in the days of our youth (Ecclesiastes 12:1). CYJ
offers every young man or woman an ideal opportunity to
serve Him by being actively engaged in what God treasure
most--Soul winning (Evangelism). In CYJ you will be groomed
to preach the gospel, to mobilise your peers to serve God
and to live a live consecrated to God. Your Creator needs
you! CYJ provides you a window of opportunity to effectively
serve Him.
3. How can I become a member of CYJ?
Membership is open to every youth who believes in the Lord
Jesus Christ; Belong to a local assembly of believers
(Church) where the Holy Bible is upheld and taught as God's
supreme word. Such an individual must also demonstrate a
firm commitment to soul winning and evangelism. If you are

4. Is CYJ limited to a particular Church?
CYJ does not belong to any local church. As an
interdenominational Ministry it is made up of young
Christians from various local Churches (Denominations). As
an arm of the Church (The body of Christ, 1 Cor 12: 12 - 26)
CYJ actively collaborates with all the local churches (That
are willing to work with the Ministry) in the areas where
the Ministry is based in the accomplishment of activities
within the framework of its vision (Gospel Crusades,
picnics, seminars, conferences etc).
5. Is CYJ only for young people?
Absolutely not! Even though the Ministry focuses mostly on
youths, elderly believers can be part of the CYJ member and
can play an active role in the fulfillment of the Ministry's
vision. Parents and other elderly Christians can be involved
in the College of Patrons and Sponsors (CPS) of any local
CYJ Branch. Patrons and sponsors play a vital role in the
existence of the Ministry. Patrons help to guide the to
remain faithful to her goal through prayers, counsel, rebuke
and encouragement. Sponsors are more involved in the funding
of the Ministry. Both Patrons and Sponsors are great

4. What has CYJ done for the Cameroonian youth?
In her 13 years of existence (Since 18 May 1991) CYJ has
been at the forefront of the battle against moral decadence,
juvenile delinquency and the quest for fulfillment and
significance among youths in Cameroon. Within the framework
of its Vision to preach the gospel and to mobilise youths
for Christian service, the Ministry has through various
evangelistic media brought thousands of youths in the
various Provinces of our fatherland to the saving knowledge
and power of Jesus Christ. Salvation from since to those
youths have meant deliverance from the vices in which they
were engaged in : juvenile delinquency, violence, drugs,
prostitution and promiscuity. By inculcating in them the
fear of God CYJ has aided in molding several Cameroonian
youths to a bright future. Most of them have thrived in
their academic pursuits and careers as BA, Bsc MA, Msc and
PhD Degree holders, engineers, accountants, medical
practitioners, Pastor, Evangelists and other ministers of
the gospel. By building in them a vital foundation of moral
rectitude and the fear of God, CYJ has actively participated
in molding youths to become responsible and law abiding
citizens of their fatherland.
5.Where does CYJ derive its funds?
CYJ is funded through donations and gifts from members,
individuals, sponsors, church groups and churches. If the
